More Vacation Days = Better Productivity

Stress Tip: Take More Time Off

At the company Red Frog, the CEO gives his employees unlimited time off.  That’s right- unlimited time off.  AnAnd it’s never abused or taken for granted.  Because more time off means greater productivity.  You have time to recharge and renew; creativity abounds and you return to work with a good attitude, ready to take on challenges. In 2011, 70% of Americans did not take all their allotted vacation time (Right Management).  Managers: take note – this is not a good idea. Encourage your people to take all their time off, and consider giving them more.  You may just find you have even greater success and better results.

And if you are an entrepreneur, you may be afraid to take time off, but that’s the opposite of what you should be doing. Dan Sullivan runs a Toronto company called Strategic Coach and he requires his clients to take several vacations each year. In a survey of 3000 clients, Sullivan found that after 3 years, each client had doubled their annual free days and doubled their income!
